## Your food diary stays on your device

TapChi is a free offline food logger and recipe finder. Food entries, portions, nutrition, personal foods and recipes, photos, local profiles, preferences and personal recipe ratings are stored locally. This release has no account, login, cloud sync, backup service, ads, purchases or developer-operated analytics or crash reporting. We do not receive your diary or use it for advertising.

## Camera, photos and notifications

The optional camera, food recognition and label recognition run on your device. Photos are not uploaded for recognition. Photo access is used only when you choose an image. Camera and photo permissions can be revoked in system settings. Local mealtime reminders use notification permission; reminders do not require a server. Profiles are local diaries, not online accounts. Home-screen widgets and shortcuts use local app data.

## Android scanner diagnostics

Android scanning uses Google ML Kit. Although images and recognized food/label text are processed on your device, Google’s SDK collects device and app information, per-installation identifiers, feature events, error codes and performance metrics for diagnostics and usage analytics over HTTPS. This is SDK diagnostic information, not your diary or food photos. Google states that ML Kit does not send this diagnostic data to third parties. Manual logging does not require you to use the scanner. ## Optional internet connections

Barcode product lookup sends the scanned product code to Open Food Facts over HTTPS. Open Food Facts receives your network address and request information; it does not receive your photo, diary, profile or saved ratings. Open Food Facts states that visitor IP addresses and request logs are retained for three years for security, technical analysis and popularity measurement. That provider’s policy governs its logs. Barcode lookup is optional; manual food entry, the bundled catalog, logging and the bundled recipe library work offline. Opening an original recipe source or an external website uses your browser; that site receives normal browser/network information. ## Support and website

If you email us, we receive the message, sender address and attachments you choose to send and use them to answer your request. Do not send your private diary or photos unless you choose to share them for support. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve the request and meet legal obligations. This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes network/request information to deliver and protect the site. It has no advertising, sign-up or analytics script. ## Retention, deletion and your choices

You can edit or remove food entries and local personal records in the app. To remove all app-local data, use your operating system’s clear-storage or delete-app control. OS backups, if enabled by you or your device, follow your OS provider’s settings and retention policy; deleting an app may not delete those backups. There is no TapChi online account to delete and no developer-held diary copy. To request deletion or access to support correspondence, contact us. Requests involving Open Food Facts, Google’s SDK information or a source website must be directed to that provider. Open Food Facts privacy requests: privacy@openfoodfacts.org.

## Audience and health

TapChi is intended for people age 13 and older and is not directed to children. Local nutrition information is source-based and may be incomplete. TapChi is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent conditions. Ask a qualified health professional for medical advice.
